To strengthen our relationships and connections with Whānau, Iwi, Hapu, Kohanga and various local community organisations. - Ka whakamohiotia a Te Orini ki nga korero tuku Iho o Ngati Awa.
Te Orini students will have an awareness of historical issues affecting Ngati Awa.

Incorporating Te Aho Matua
Ko nga mahi a te kaiako ki te whakamahi i Te Aho Matua ki roto i o ratau kaupapa. Ka Whakakotahi Te Aho Matua ki roto i nga puakanga o te kura. Kia mohio ai nga kaiako he kaupapa pai tenei ki te whakauru ki roto i nga kaupapa a nga akonga, kia eke ai ratau ki te taumata tiketike. Ko Te Aho Matua he kaupapa matua ki te whakaatu mai i nga pukorero nga wariu me nga tikanga mo te kura kaupapa Maori, s155 Education Act 1989.
Teachers will incorporate Te Aho Matua in their planning. Te Aho Matua will be integrated into the school’s Curriculum Statements. This will enable all teachers to consistently ensure that the principles of Te Aho Matua are successfully implemented into student learning programmes. Te Aho Matua is the set of Maori viewpoints which articulate the values, traditions, customs and expectations set out for Kura Kaupapa Maori, s155 Education Act 1989.

Ko te whare wairua i roto i ia tamaiti ka popoia me nga tikanga o te atua o te aroha o te tika, kia mohio ai ratau ki te aroha ki a ia ano, ki te aroha tetahi ki tetahi.
Te whare wairua within each child is constantly nutured by actively encouraging God given values of Peace, Love, and Truth for reinforcement of dignity; self-respect and respect of others.

Up-hold the self-esteem and wholesome well-being of each of our tamariki.
Manaakitanga:
Ki te whakaute I a tatau ano I te kura I nga waahi mahi me nga tangata e pahekohekoai tatau.
The utmost respect for one another and our work and all people with whom we inter-act.
Whakawhanaungatanga:
Ki te whakawhanaunga me nga iwi kia tipu ai i roto i nga mahi pai kia tipu ki te whakawhanaunga me nga tangata. Heoi ki te tautoko hoki i nga tamariki haua.
Building networks with Iwi, and development of professional and positive relationships with people in general. Provide additional support when required for Tamariki with disabilities or special needs.

We provide nutritious lunches as part of the Ka Ora Ka Ako (Free and healthy Lunches) programme prepared by our own on site chef.
MARAUTANGA KE - Extracurricular Activities
Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC), noho marae, waka ama, tutei-tira moana (surf life-saving), reti ngaru (surfing), netiporo (netball), haupoi (hockey), poitukohu (basketball), ki-o-rahi, pa whutuporo (touch-rugby), tihae whutuporo (ripper-rugby).
HANGARAU AKO - Technology in the Classroom
All classrooms are equipped with ipads and we are part of the Apple Distinguished Schools (ADS) programme. Robopa (robotics) is also an annual part of our yr 5-8 programme.
